Answer is both. Sports like gladiator fights acts as a natural selection filter so does basketball. But shit like the soccer middle schools play make sure no one is hurt and sports is supposed to injure people. Until sports can return to the violence and ideological zeal it possessed in the past, its just gonna be a bunch of subhumans eating hot dogs and pizza whilst some exotic group of foreign creatures play with a ball toy.
