Hidden variables behind GDP per capita and economic freedom correlation

The variables could be environmental as well. It seems reasonable to think that the climate and terrain of a place would influence which cooperation styles are optimal. Biologically speaking, I think there are more interesting possibilities than psychological phenotypes like propensity to honesty. For example, how might variance in physical ability within a population affect its cooperation style? I imagine populations with low variance might have developed more fairly. Its just an idea. I think HBD in general would be more interesting if people didn’t default to psychometric explanations so quickly. There are richer possible explanations out there imo.

(Note: I read, “what you guys think is the biological variable underneath economic freedom, altruism, honesty, or something else.” as you asking whether we thought psychometrics like propensity to altruism or honesty were variables driving economic freedom. This is a high quality post btw.)
